What nutritional boost do you add to your smoothies

Hi mamas,

I have been recently making some yummy smoothies for my family. I use fruit, spinach, protein powder, almond milk, nut butter, and flax meal. What else can I add?? Do you use kelp? any other greens?? Different protein sources?? I am not super knowledgable on all the great super foods so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I often add these as well:

1. Maca.
2. Hemp seeds.
3. Chia seeds.
4. Sunflower/Pumpkin seeds.

I buy green powder from the supplement section. It's usually full of spinach, kale, wheat grass, kelp, broccoli, spirulina and other green goodies. One scoop in addition to fresh greens.

Udo's 3-6-9 is also nice. Oh and raw coconut butter. If I use a lot of greens like kale and it tastes too "green", I usually add some raw honey to balance the taste. Orange juice also helps.
Basically, using a lot of wild frozen blueberries helps to keep the color nice and purple and looking nothing like a veggie, so my kids (and DH) will drink it.

I've started adding a raw egg to my smoothies and it's really nice! I read a lot on how healthy raw eggs are, so I decided to give it a try. Fortunately we have our own chickens, do I know the eggs are fresh and free range.

I rotate a number of things. You're not supposed to use the same sups everyday - variety is important!

hemp protein
hemp seeds
flax seeds (ground first)
chia seeds
sunflower seeds (soaked is best)
pumpkin seeds (soaked is best)
spirulina
chlorella
coconut oil
raw cacao
raw cacoa nibs
nutritional yeast

if I could afford goji berries I would do those too!
