UPDATE-not as late as I thought...42w5d--I need some labor vibes PLEASE!

We're not 100% certain of our dates, but we know we're only a few days off if at all. DD was 39w1d, DS was 40w5d. I seriously never thought I'd go this long. I'm so ready for this baby to be born, and I know DH and the kids are too. I've had crampy contrax for 2 days, but they never turn into anything. I'm getting emotionally exhausted here.

Please send me some labor vibes!

As someone who is currently 41+4, I can sympathize! I hope it is soon for you. Being a long gestator is exhausting!

How do you feel about some gentle labor induction techniques? The cohoshes? Homeopathics? Castor oil on the belly with a warm towel? Pumping/nipple stim? Sex? Or my personal favorite (sarcasm) scrubbing the tub on your hands on knees?

Many wishes for a wonderful birth!

Thanks.

Right now I'm frustrated. DS woke up w/ a fever and has now begun puking. Poor guy. I could send him to grandma's, but he really needs me right now, and if he missed the birth he would be pretty upset.

Sooo, after reminding myself of numerous overlooked details, I have decided we have been quite off on our dates.

For 1 thing, much later baby movements than my first 2 pregnancies. Not too unusual since every pregnancy is different, but I am very small framed and was quite surprised to go a full4-5 wks longer w/o movement.

Really quite unsure of conception. For sure had a period in Sept, *maybe* one in Oct. We went by the Sept date since that is what I was measuring closest to, but I wasn't at all sure how long my cycles were, and DS was still nursing so they could have been affected by that.

I quit seeing our MW after about 15 wks, went to an OB 1x, and measured 'right on' for my Sept period dates. But that isn't necessarily right since I'm a 3rd timer. I could measure a few weeks ahead and still be normal. (never had an US)

Sooo, this, combined with a few other factors, lead us to believe that I am a few weeks off. Possibly just approaching 40w. I cannot believe how uncomfortable I've been and am not even as far along as I thought! Any ideas how to tell the gobs of people waiting on a birth announcement that they have a while to wait?

Maybe just remind them that averages include early babies and late babies.... And there are ALOT of babies (maybe list all of those you know to have been born early-ish) born early so it makes sense that there would also be alot of babies born later....

Good Luck!

Take the phone off the hook

Ah, just tell them your dates were off and babies come when they are ready.

As for the discomfort... can you see a chiro? Not only will it help you feel better to be adjusted, but it will help you have a faster easier birth.
