Prolonged jaundice - almost 1 month old

My little guy is almost 1 month. He was very slightly jaundiced a day or two after birth, but the hospital released him with no intervention. He has remained yellow until now. His bili level on Thursday was 15.1 (so he would have been 3.5 weeks at that point - and I understand that is an increase over what his level was in the hospital). His doc isn't super worried but he has us using the bili lights box over the weekend. He is nursing like crazy, peeing and pooping regularly, has gained almost 3 pounds since birth. Just looking for been there/done that stories so I'm not so worried. If his level isn't down on Tuesday when they do another blood test, I'm sure we're in for a lot of un-fun stuff.

DD1 had jaundice for a long time too. They actually sent us home with a bili blanket. She had to wear it all the time (as much as possible) and it was a little hard because she had to be plugged in. But it took care of the jaundice and kept her levels down around 13 until it finally cleared up.
She is absolutely fine now (5 years later)!

Both my kids were jaundiced for around 6 weeks. You're doing everything right! Nursing and light will move it out of their system. Try doing some naked sunlight time as well. I feel like the sun helps a lot and indirect sunlight for 15 minutes should not result in any sunburn on a little one.

Thank you both I had a freak-out moment yesterday when I thought he was looking more yellow. I called the doc who sent me to a lab for another blood test. Fortunately his level was down to 12!! So the lights and nursing are working!! One more day on the lights and we should be in the clear
