Maternity Panties?

Ok, started week 21 yesterday and it's time to break down and buy some maternity clothes. My biggest need is for underwear. Any suggestions? I'd sacrifice cuteness over support at this time.

I like the ones at Motherhood. They are really soft and stretchy! I even wear them when I'm not pregnant. lol.

I wear low cut (in the front, not the back) panties all the time. They fit great during pregnancy without being special panties that only fit during pregnancy.

My faves are from Old Navy! They are SOOOOO comfortable! I wear them even when not PG.

I loved the motherhood ones, too. I still wear them now, and my DD is almost 3 months.

Me too. I got some when pregnant last time and find that they fit about the same as the low-cut regular panties from Victoria's Secret, but are flimsier.

I have a whole bunch of nice ones from Motherhood - they are really really nice.

I also bought a bunch of cheapy ones from Zellers (like Target) and wore them while pregnant and then used those postpartum. I hate the mesh panties, and it was nice to have something I didn't mind destroying.

I have a few pair from Motherhood that are nice. Most of my stash are just cotton Hanes (6 in a package) in a size up from what a normally wear. They are good for postpartum and inexpensive enough that I don't feel bad ruining them. I have found that unless you get high-waisted undies most are cut low enough to sit under the belly.

I never bothered.

All my regular underwear are low cut and worked just fine during my pregnancy.

I already had some full coverage, higher cut underwear and those worked well for post-partum.

I was so put off by Motherhood's quality I stuck with my cotton bikinis for the most part.

I did dislike the last little while though, with my belly rolling down the front, but by then it was so late and I'm so far from shopping choices ...

My favs were actually from Target, a microfiber panty without a waistband - just clear elastic sewn straight on. Think it's Gilligan O Mally but am not sure. Thongs were best for me in 3rd trimester because, though they're not my fav normally, they moved around the least at that point.

I never wore maternity undies. My regular ones sit under my belly anyhow

I think that low cut styles work well, anything that doesn't go above the hipbone. Try to avoid any with the big elastic band style. I have a couple pairs of Maternity, but I think they are only slightly more stretchy/soft around the waist than others.

I had to get some because my hips get so wide when I am pregnant. My regular cotton underwear just dont work. I got the motherhood ones, but I dont love them. Tehy fit ok, they just make me feel like a dumpy pregnant lady. I ended up picking up some stetchier pairs of regluar underwear at JCPenney in a size up. They fit now, and I know from having another pair of the same that their strchiness allow them to work after all this pregnancy nonsense is over too.
