We live with my Dad (he has an in law arrangement in the basement) and today he asked me where I plan on having this baby (#1 was hospital #2 and #3 were home births). He was at all 3 (waiting room for #1 and downstairs for the home births).
I was really worried about how I'd break it to him where/how I was going to have this baby.... thinking he'd be opposed to UC. So... I hadn't told him yet, but knew I'd HAVE to tell him beforehand, considering he'd clearly hear me in labor and giving birth (I vocalize pretty loudly) and probably start to wonder why A. I wasn't headed to the hospital or B. why no midwife or Dr was showing up at home. Last thing I'd want would be for him to freak out and call 911 because I hadn't shared my UC plans with him.
When I told him I might be doing it at home, unassisted, he had a few questions, but he never really opposed it and he even said "I know you'll do good".
He said he'll just turn his X box up really loud when he starts to hear me in pain. LOL!! He also said "so your Mom.... she'll come and boil some blankets and stuff right?" LOL!!
