I know others on here have a lot of natural ideas but when I saw one on my sons rear (and realized that I'd been quite itchy too lately) I ran straight to the pharmacy and got pin-x. We did pin-x every 2 weeks for 8 weeks. They were pretty much gone after the first dose but the subsequent doses are to kill off the ones who hadn't hatched at the time of the first dose. They recommend doing 2 doses, 2 weeks apart but I wanted to make sure I got rid of them completely! They were nasty!!

I had a tiny bit of a tummy ache after taking it followed by a bout of diarrhea the next morning. My son, who was still in diapers had a huge blowout of diarrhea that was FULL of worms. It was nasty but at least I know it worked. The active ingredient paralyzes the worms so they can be expelled from what I understand. I didn't notice any side affects in subsequent doses.
If you do a search on this forum there is a huge thread all about pinworms.

in addition to the pin-x, you want to make sure the sheets get washed and dried on hot, and dirty clothes don't touch clean ones before they get washed.
I'm all about the natural remedies for things, but seriously, get the pin-x. Pinworms really don't respond to natural treatments, and you don't want to mess around, as there can be complications (my dd had nerve damage from them!)
