what else should I get & wool questions (longish)

I have 2 under 2 right now & feel like all I do is change diapers

I am finally getting back into cloth again. With #1 I really didnt investigate the CD world & just got 2 sizes of Nikky covers & 2 sizes of snuggle bottom contoured diapes & a few indian PFs (& 2 wonder wraps which I hate). When he outgrew those I just went to disposables. I am determined to stay with CD now for many reasons & so far I am having fun educating myself.

So this is what I ordered so far:
2 fuzzi bunz perfect fit (using & really like so far)
1 softbums
1 flip
1 thirsties duo wrap

for night time on my 22mo HEAVY wetter:
Happy hempy pocket diap w/ hemp stuffin
& Stacinator so simple cover.

Except for the FB I just got one of each to try out & they havent come in yet. I like OS bec I can use them on both kids.

I am thinking about getting 2 BG organic. Maybe trying mommys touch OS and/or mother ease OS. I was going to also get some more FB, but after learning about Greener Baby I think I may order from there. They look almost the same & the price is awesome ($50 for 7 pocket diapes). Would love to find black covers too???

What else & how many should I have for the 2 of them??

I have been looking at wool since so many of you mamas love it, but from the little I read it seems like a PIA. Is it?
-you can only hand wash - Is this true?
-special soap
-lanolizing - how often? Spotty?

Is all the extra work with wool worth it? I also knit & crochet, although right now I have no time
Thanks in advance!!

It's fun building a stash!

A caution - although the FB OS are adjustable, the leg elastics are a bit fiddly - I don't think I would plan to use those between two children except in an emergency.

You might well need another insert for that Happy Hempy - my 4mo can wet through a hemp stuffin with one pee.

Black covers - hmm... have you seen Gen Y covers? They're not cheap but they're pretty cool.

I prefer ME OS to BG organic OS. I'm selling my BG organic OS - it didn't contain runny poo, and it takes a long time to dry. Love my ME OS though.

As for wool, once you're set up, it's not a big burden. You don't need to wash everytime; I wait until they're either poopy or smelly. I wash them in Eucalan (a little goes a long way) and then lanolize with Lansinoh. http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/lanolize.htm

Then lay to dry. It's probably 10 minutes of work, tops, but spread out over a day, including drying time. I've knitted a couple of soakers and it's so gratifying to use them!

I'll agree that wool isn't exactly as much work as it might seem - I use kookaburra woolwash (which doesn't need to get rinsed off) and relanolize with imse vimse wool shampoo every 2-3 months or so. Anything right on the cover, I try to rub out right away with old slivers of kiss my face olive oil soap. BUT, with 2 in dipes, this could possibly not work easily into your day. Wool covers do tend to stay in good condition longer than pul and sometimes even fleece, though. There are machine-washable wool covers out there too - however, I couldn't tell you what they are at the moment.

Not a black cover - but bumwear has black/white os pockets. Personally, I really like their fit and used them on dd1 when a large and now on dd2 who's 3 mo. The thirsties duo diapers I've found to be pretty nice also.
