i keep two wipes warmers, not so much for warmth but to have wet flannel wipes at my two changing areas (i got one as a hand-me-down and used a gift cert to get the second one). i keep a stack of prefolds and an o-wool pad downstairs in the living room, and the same upstairs. i have two wet bags, one hanging in the bathroom downstairs, and one on our bedroom door upstairs.

i can't imagine having to get out of bed and standing to change diapers at night. the wipes warmer sits on my bedside table and a basket underneath holds the prefolds and wool pad. i don't get out of bed unless i have to pee.

having a spot that i stock downstairs with dipes makes it easier to refill the diaper bag when we're hurrying out the door too.

i have a buffet (low long piece of furniture with drawers and cabinets) in what will be my LO's room that i may eventually use, if he moves in there while he's still in diapers.
Yeah- the 2 story house we are now renting is the issue. I never had stairs with the older two. I don't want to be constantly climbing stairs. I like the idea of having a space both up and downstairs. I'm thinking I could make a space on top of the low shelving unit (sort of like a buffet but pretty wide on top to put a changing pad) we have in the living room- then we could just use the already-there-on-the-shelf-but-currently-filled-with-toys baskets underneath to hold diapering stuff. Dh and I will NOT get out of bed at night to change diapers either...so I think the wipes warmer and basket by the bed for the "upstairs changing station" is a great idea. And this set-up would be virtually free...

I used mine quite a bit. I much prefer having everything right where I need it all perfectly organized in drawers. It is also more convenient because I keep the diaper pail in there as there is no space in the bathroom. If its just a wet diaper (and before she was on solids, ANY diaper) I just threw it into the bucket. If I were doing the basket method, I'd have to first remember to keep the basket near me (or end up bringing her to it anyway) and then also take the dirty diaper to her room anyway. I'm not keen on a diaper pail in my living room haha.

However, I had to stop using it awhile ago because she refused to understand that she couldn't just get off the thing... and this started at the same time the phase where she didn't want to hold still for changes started. It was just safer to do it on the floor.. but we do it NEXT to the changing table in her room now. It works out... she knows to go there when I ask if she needs her diaper changed and I can let her go diaperless for a bit reading books in there without worry about pee anywhere but in her room.

YES! In my opinion, it is one of the best "baby things" we have. Everyone I know, online and IRL, told me not to get one *except* for my mother. I resisted and resisted, and she finally just bought the dang thing for me. I am so glad she did. I've never changed her diaper anywhere *but* on the changing table here at my place. Everyone told me just to change her on the couch/floor/bed ... but that is not at all comfortable to me and the few accidents we've had, Im glad I didnt get pee on the couch, lol! I hate changing diapers at my others' houses because it's so uncomfortable to me not to have "my station".

Technically, it's an entertainment stand that we've converted into a changing table (bought the changing pad to put on top), but it's the same thing. It's great to have it all in one location, imo. I'm a pretty tall gal so the actual changing tables were all too small so I had to figure something else out and it works perfectly. The slot for the VCR/etc. is where I put my wipes, etc. This is our area (before she arrived ) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...2066035_n.jpg:
