moving from home ici to iui/clomid/injectibles-advice?

Hi everyone,
This is my 4th cycle ttc. Im 43, so aware that not conceiving in the last cycles could be due to bad eggs.

Im working with a donor doing home insemination, and I am sure that issues of timing have also been an issue.

As far as I can tell, I ovulate regularly, on day 13 or 14. I have a short luteal phase because I am nursing 6times a day approx. I take progesterone in the luteal phase for that.

However, I am wondering if I can do something to help. It seems that a lot of people take clomid. I could also take soy isoflavones. Not sure if this will help because I already ovulate, but I have read that it could give me stronger ovulation so I get a better chance at a better egg. But it might also stop me ovulating.

I could go to the injectibles-gonal f, follicistim, repronex ( I don’t know, there seem to be so many) Would this help?

Does anyone have any experience with these drugs when dealing uniquely with the issue of age?

Im aware that I would have to stop nursing temporarily my ds, altho apparently its ok to take clomid while nursing.

Anyone btdt? thanks Maya

ps.are any of these compatible with nursing?

You could look into some of the injectibles i mentioned above though they are very expensive. Given your age, they might lead to multiples too.

Another thing too, you could always try DHEA (see above post) if you are not breastfeeding. Bee pollen is also good for egg quality.

Ive heard its not good to try clomid for more than 6 months. Soy isoflavones are a natural alternative to clomid that do not dry out cervical mucus or thin endometrial lining. But if you are not responding to clomid, you may not respond to soy either, since both act in the same way.

I hope others with more knowledge than i have can chip in, as i am new at this.

Good luck to you!
