9 1/2 wks pg - diarrhea, cramping...now slight spotting?

Ok ladies, help me out! I had my first appt w my midwife Friday morning, during which she didn't do the pap but she did do the standard STD swab. Saturday night I had some sudden diarrhea, which I attributed to the fact that I had eaten crappy food Friday & Saturday (damn greasy fair food!). Then yesterday my tummy was feeling pretty queasy (I've been feeling various levels of queasiness most days since about 4 1/2 wks) but yesterday felt a little extra queasy, like I needed to puke and/or poo, but I didn't. Then last night I felt pretty crampy...it felt like menstrual cramps, but I also felt like I needed to poo but never did. The cramps subsided after a couple hours and they haven't come back. Today, I've felt about the same as I usually do...slight queasiness, have a hard time thinking of something that sounds good to eat, tired. But about 20 min ago, when I wiped after going pee, the discharge on the toilet paper was slightly brown-tinged. What the heck is going on?! Is there any chance I'm not losing this baby? I'm so nervous. I had a m/c 4 yrs ago...found out at 12 wks there was no heartbeat and baby stopped developing around 7 wks...but that time I felt like there was something wrong...my symptoms went away around 7 or 8 wks and I just didn't feel right about it. But I've felt pretty good about this pregnancy the whole time...I'm so sad now
Does anybody have an words of wisdom for me?

I would have to say right now it is MUCH more likely that baby is fine than that you are having a miscarriage.

It really sounds like, as you said, the diarrhea was from eating crappy... likely also the tummy cramps were from eating crappy.

The spotting could be many things but the best part is its brown... which means its OLD blood. And its spotting... which is better than gushing by a long shot.

I had spotting at 26 weeks this time due to stress... the tummy problems very much could cause you that stress. Also, if she so much as bumped your cervix during the STD swab it could cause some bleeding. PLUS if you had sex at all in the past couple days, it could cause it too.

Of course... you want to be sure you are keeping yourself really well hydrated with so much tummy troubles (dehydration only makes it worse sometimes, the water can help flush it all out)

AND you do want to let your midwife know about the spotting. Its nothing worth rushing to the ER over or anything (unless it starts bleeding harder)... but she does need to know it happened... just in case anything shows up that could go with it as a sign of something worse.

I have had the worst stomach issues with this pregnancy, more diarrhea than anything else. And I had a day of spotting, but everything was fine at my 12 week appointment. I have also heard that morning sickness can get worse at 9-11 weeks, so you might just be getting a new surge of morning sickness.

Drink a lot of water, rest, and eat foods that settle your stomach.

Thanks so much for the responses, ladies...you've made me feel a little better...I was so upset last night! I'm going to call my midwife today just to let her know what's going on. I felt a wee bit of cramping last night after I saw this discharge, but I have no idea if that was just because I was nervous and being paranoid...so far this morning, I feel pretty good (well, I feel the same queasiness I've been feeling for the past 2 months...but I haven't felt any cramping and I haven't seen any more spotting).
I'm trying to stay calm and hydrated...if anybody has any more words of wisdom for me, I'd really appreciate it!
