possible x-ray exposure?

Hi. I don't post very often, but I lurk a lot. I have a situation coming up tomorrow, and I'm not sure what to do.

Long story short, my DS who just turned 3 has a tumor on his skull which has just recently shown some changes again. His neurolgist is bringing us in tomorrow for an x-ray to see what's going on. When we've had these before I've always stayed with him to hold his hand and calm him, and they have always given me an apron to wear, but we've always gone in on like CD2 or CD3 so I wasn't worried about it. This time I think I am about 3DPO. I expect Fertility Friend to give me crosshairs tomorrow. DH could go in with him, but i don't know if DS will be ok with that or not. I hate the idea of not being there for him when he is scared. What should I do?

First of all I'm sorry about the situation and hope things turn out ok. Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk to be in the x-ray room. They usually take just a few seconds so you can be with him up until the point they take the actual x-ray - it usually just makes a short buzz sound and is over, so as soon as they're about to do it tell him you have to help the doctor press the button or something and leave the room. Otherwise you're always going to wonder if it caused any harm and it's not worth that stress.

agree. and tell the techs you are trying to get pg (and could be) so they can advise you on exactly what your options are.
