Devastated? I hope you at least found out your baby is healthy.

I will never have a 100% healthy boy, so yeah, devastated.

I'm sorry, ombrooklyn!

If you don't mind, may I ask what the health issues are? Of course, please don't feel pressured to answer if you don't want to share.

thanks! I'm coming to terms with it.
My boys have hemophilia, which means their blood does not clot. Mostly scary when it comes to bleeding internally. They will still lead normal lives in a way but it makes it very stressful on me. A fall/bump to a normal child can put us in the hospital. hope that makes sense.

Desiring a specific gender because of a health issue is a totally different thing than being devastated because you didn't get what you wanted. I'm very sorry, hemophilia is a very serious thing. Are you the carrier? I had to look it up, but I read that you still have a 75% chance of your son being born without it. (I got this info from the internet, I would trust your info more as you are living it.) I hope everything works out for you and your family.

Amy, the chances of have an unaffected child is 75%. Once you find out it's a boy it drops to 50/50 depending on whether the boy gets that particular gene from mom or dad. In this case I am the carrier. Unfortunately, in my family, not one male yet has been lucky enough to not be affected. Plus, I don't know how I would feel about having one with it and one without....
Normal things for other boys like playing football and losing teeth are difficult or not even possible for mine. If I had been given a girl I have no doubt that my life would be easier (along with my childs), with less stress and worry and hospital visits.
Thanks for all the hugs and understanding. I'm still slightly angry that these are my cards but what choice do I have but to play.
Thanks for offering the hugs and support ladies and sorry for the novel.

I'm glad you're feeling a little better and coming to terms with it. But man, what a difficult situation to deal with! I would be a walking pit of anxiety in your situation. More power to you!!! Here's to hoping that BOTH your little boys stay happy and healthy.

So Intelligender is proving to be pretty accurate! Who's next to find out?
Ok, so we decided to find out today at our one and only ultrasound.

Intelligender: Boy
Best Baby: Boy
Ultrasound: Girl

So... Those pee-tests were way wrong for us!!!!

My Intelligender result was girl and according to u/s it was correct. We are having a girl!

Intelligender was right for me. I took it at 12 weeks, and it read that it was a boy! Today at 20 weeks I found out from my doctor that it is. So it was fun to do and also accurate in my case. I would recommend it.boc.gif
