My 22 month old son seems to have a rapidly growing case of thrush. I have had no sypmtomsof thrush while breastfeeding but we noticed some white spots in his that have a classic presentation of thrush. I had thrush as an adult and it looks very similar. I myself am very prone to Candida over growth especially during summer months.

I am going to introduce GSE today and increase probiotics for the both of us.
I am concerned about rapidly killing off all the excess Candida because he had slightly elvated lead lvl (5.8)

Addtional Background

we have been feeding more iron rich foods to reduce lead lvls

he has been experiencing intermitent consitpation since getting a sever stomach virus in the spring so we are having to give him a probiotic and fiber supplement to get him to void his bowels more regularly.

The constipation may or may not be the result of excess iron

I had been experiencing a sudden low milk supply which I boosted with brewers yeast temporarily until I could get some rest. I think that is contributing to my yeast problem So i have stopped it.

He is now refusing most foods (understandablly)but will eat frozen fruit & vegies popsicles which we make at home and peas, carrrots and spinach. He usually will eat whole wheat toast with butter but is mostly refusing food including yogurt

He is terrified of the Ped right now all visits (well/sick) end with everyone in tears. So I am trying to avoid the unneeded cost and stress if possible.

questions:

have you succesfully used a Candida diet with a toddler?

How would you proceed given the lead issue?

And if I go with a probiotic/GSE course would you suggest adding some other supplement to insure the heavy metal toxins don't return to his blood?

Thanks in advance
