Cramping, then contracting, but no bleeding or spotting - 7 weeks

Hi mamas,

It was suggested I post here, as I would get more traffic.

Yesterday, around dinnertime, I suddenly got period-like cramps that never let up, but were mild. This lasted all night. This morning I noticed before getting up that my back hurt and the cramps were more intense. Once I got up, I noticed they were coming and going with a pattern, versus just hanging out all the time.

I went and got the tincture from Trilight herbs called "carry on." It has black haw, false unicorn and wild yam. It's helped somewhat, but I'm still moderately crampy.

I had a mama tell me about starting vitex, but my MW said it's not a good idea to start when pregnant if you've not been taking it all along. I know that progesterone levels dropping can cause cramping, so should I take vitex or progesterone cream or what?

I have an appointment with my OB at 8am tomorrow to check things out. I just had a m/c at 9 weeks just 7 weeks ago. With that m/c, I spotted brown, pink and then red and then started contracting. So, at least I have no spotting or bleeding.

I've also increased my water intake.

Has this happened to anyone else? What was your outcome?

If bleeding has not started... its still very very possible that the cramping is a normal (and healthy) part of pregnancy.

I had them (coming and going about every 15 minutes) much like you did early on... but indeed the pregnancy was healthy and she should be here in 8-12 weeks.

For me, lots of cramping was very normal in the first trimester. It last longer and was stronger this time, my third pregnancy (plus three losses). With all three of my losses, two chemical pregnancies and a 7w4d m/c, I had very little to no cramping, I just started bleeding and then the cramping began. With my DD, DS and now this pregnancy, the cramping began before a positive test and continued for the first several weeks, longer this time. I wish you the best for a positive outcome!

I sure hope this is my case! Thanks for sharing!

That's how it's been for me too. Thank you!

I canceled my appointment for tomorrow. I had a choice to either go to the doc or order more tincture and a progesterone serum, as doing both was too much money. So, I ordered a 2 week supply of my tincture and will have my OB order my blood work locally to check on my progesterone.

Still cramping, but it's back to period-like and not contracting. Still no spotting/bleeding. I'll keep you guys posted.
