Blood test results questions

I had my kids iron and Vit. D tested. After I left my Dr. I noticed that they had only received the results for Routine Hematology, but not the D yet. I'll ask them tomorrow to get it from the hospital.

I have a question on the iron though:

DS1 - 5.5 yrs. old:

Ferritin: (Ref Range: 6-110) He got 8 - is that fine, or sort of low?

Hgb: (Ref. range: 115-155) He got 115. - just, just.
Hct: (Ref. range: .340 - .400) He got: .349

Rel. Lymph (Ref range: .30-.48) He got .53 - high.

DS2: 4 yrs. old:

Rel. lymph (Ref range: .30-.48) He got .58 - high.

DS3: 2 yrs. old:

Ferritin: (Ref Range: 6-110) He got 9 - is that fine, or sort of low?

Hgb: (Ref. range: 115-155) He got 107. low
Hct: (Ref. range: .340 - .400) He got: .320 low

MCV: (Ref. range: 75.0 - 87.0) He got 70.9 - low
MCH: (Ref. range: 24.0-30.0) He got 23.7 - low

Rel. Neutro: (Ref. range: .27 - .55) He got .24 - low
Rel lymph (Ref range: .30-.48) He got .67 - high.

HOw much iron do I need to supplement my kids with? Thanks. Also, what are the other stuff? I'd like to understand this first before I ask my Dr.

Thanks, Ana

I don't know about the other stuff but the iron (ferritin) is on the low side... DS's was 4 & mine was 12(? I think) and the doctor wanted us both to supplement, though didn't force it since we both had high RBC = no anemia. We ended up supplementing short-term with Floradix, DS did up to 10ml a day(we varied it day to day, my choice, since he was only 14mos) & I did 10ml twice a day... since they are still in range you could also consider doing things like cooking tomato sauce in cast iron pots etc. Are they symptomatic of iron-deficiency anemia?

Hope someone else can help with the other stuff!
