I'm almost exclusively pumping (we get to breastfeed only 3x/day for 15 minutes, but I pump 8x/day to provide bottle and tube feeds), though I don't know if that makes a difference here.
Also, I use a nipple shield, because her latch is chompy.
I have a Montgomery's gland that is on the part of my areola that the pump doesn't suck into the tube-like part of the breastshield, and doesn't go into the part of the nipple shield that she sucks on, but is covered by the breast shield and nipple shield, that is swollen. I noticed it getting a little swollen a few days ago, and now it's swollen and hard and painful. It looks almost zit-like, including having a buried white "head" like a zit. But I know it's not a zit, it's a Montgomery's gland. I think it's most likely just clogged.
What can I do? Going to go see an LC is kind of out, because it's a huge hassle to take the baby, because of her strict feeding schedule which includes using the ng tube feeding pump, plus my husband would have to take off work to drive me.
