Portuguese audio?

We're trying to jump start out Portuguese learning and I need some more audio things we can listen to during the day. We listen to some audio books on librivox and I've found some youtube cartoons, but I would love some kind of daily Brazilian news podcast or something. I used to be fluent and need to brush up and I want as many native resources as possible for our dds. I'll answer their questions and help them along. We all already speak Spanish so that helps a lot. Google is only giving me a few things for learning it as a second language. But I would like something with normal people speaking about anything that is child appropriate.

I am going to lurk on your thread! We had a Brazilian au pair this last year and I am want to try to continue building on what they have learned. Wow. It isn't easy - there isn't much out there. And it is new to me too....I haven't found any kids stuff for brazilian portuguese - language lizard has european portuguese stuff.....
I will give you a bump now and then as I would like to hear more! Thanks for posting!

Have you tried itunes? They have podcasts (free) and audio books (to buy) in many different languages.

I looked, but I'm not proficient with itunes and couldn't find the foreign language section I'll go google to see if I can figure it out, but if anyone has any links that would be helpful as well. I kept thinking before that there must be tons of podcasts with people talking a ton!

Our iTunes is on our other computer, so I can't link from this one, but once you open iTunes and click on "iTunes Store" plug in "Portuguese" as your search term. It will sort the items for you (books, songs, podcasts, etc.)

Check the web pages of Brazilian radio/tv stations? I don't know if there are any state-run ones, but where I am, the Spanish and Catalan government-run stations have lots of resources on their sites. The BBC also has a ton of stuff for a ton of different languages.
