Sheet Set for Toddler Bed??

I'm getting kinda frustrated by the seeming lack of options for toddler beds. We will be converting DS's crib soon and I want to get a set that includes flat & fitted sheets and a standard pillowcase. Most of the sets I've found seem kinda...garish? And very gender-specific. Not that girls don't like trains and pirates and boys don't like pink and flowers, but you know I mean.

I want something that is comfortable, soft...could be basic solid colors or could be fun print...and AFFORDABLE! There was a set called Heavenly Soft that included a flat and fitted sheet, chenille quilt and a pillow sham rather than pillow case. I feel like it would be great, except we don't need a pillow sham...we need an actual pillowcase. The set cost about $75...seems crazy considering the size of a toddler bed. I did like that the flat sheet and quilt both had a fitted end so they'd stay securely on the bed.

Another brand was called Tadpoles. Anyone have experience with this brand? Pottery Barn Kids has totally cute toddler bedding sets (quilt, pillow sham...), but few toddler sheet options.

Have you tried IKEA?

Yeah, IKEA has some cute stuff. Our set is by Olive Kids and its pretty cute (cotton/poly though which kinda bugs me). Target, Kohls, etc carry this brand.

I looked on IKEA's website, but didn't see toddler sheet sets. Am I missing something or do you think they're at the store but not on the website?

Are they soft?

They are listed under baby textiles since they fit the crib mattress. Here is one example. They don't come in sets per se, you have to purchase individually.

They are all 100% cotton and are soft. I have a bunch that got very little use sadly (kid never used the crib, now sleeps in a double bed), because they are super-cute too. If you can its best to go to the store so you can see the stuff in person I think.

Ahh, I did see those but didn't realize it was what I was looking for. Still a little confused. I see listings for fitted crib sheets, which are solid colors. Then I see listings for crib duvet & pillowcase sets, which are prints. Is a crib duvet an actual blanket? Or just a cover for the crib quilt they have listed? Are there fitted sheets that match the prints of the duvets and pillowcases? Are there flat sheets or only blankets/quilts?

I am in the same boat as you, OP! I'm actually just looking for a fitted crib sheet and pillowcase since DS is still in a crib, but I'd love something cute and soft. (and would actually LOVE something with trucks!) I have not found a thing. I looked at the ones at Ikea but was confused by them, and didn't see crib sheets. Anything with a fun print seems to be crappy, rough, and a poly blend. I want soft cotton.

Pottery Barn Kids does have super cute fitted crib sheets. To get a matching pillowcase you'd have to choose a crib sheet that matches a "big kid" sheet set and then get that set (or maybe just the pillowcase if it's available on its own). DS has a cute lion print fitted sheet from PBK and I feel it's adequately soft...not jersey cotton soft, but I'd sleep on it and I'm picky. I've just been using random pillowcases that we already have for DS's pillow. Certainly you could find a cute fitted sheet and then buy pillowcases in a coordinating color (e.g. a red pillowcase if there's a lot of red in the print of the fitted sheet).

This is what we used for my ODS when he was in a toddler/crib bed and it's super soft, once washed of course. Trucks galore!! It's held up so well that I'm saving it for DS#2.

Thanks for the idea!

I saw those, but the reviews are not great and they say they are not 100% cotton, so they won't do. I can't do sheets for my kids that have polyester.

Yes, the crib duvet is just a cover for the crib quilt. The sheets are generally more basic but some do have prints. It s Euro-style lol! I seem to remember that there are sheets, but I have not looked for about a year. Its clear that the sheets are not listed on the website though.

Olive kids has sets that are 100% cotton like this one. In fact most of their sets are cotton (except for the one I bought apparently ). You can buy many of their sets online from Target and Kohls and get free shipping if its over something like 50 bucks.

ETA: I think that the toddler size sheet is the same size as a crib mattress. Might want to measure to be sure.
