I think that could be the cause of yours symptoms. I'd try getting those nutrients from food also. The Traditional Foods forum should be able to help you out with ideas for food sources.

I do get them from food -- my body just doesn't seem to be absorbing them

I hope this doesn't offend you, but have you considered that your diet is the cause of your symptoms? I was a vegetarian for many years (13), and it did horrible things to my health. I finally went primal/paleo, which was a huge mind shift for me, but it worked. I get my meat from local/humane sources. I look and feel the best I have in 15 years. It is still weird to eat meat, but there's no denying that it healed me (I've been paleo for 1.5 years, an omnivore for 5).

You may want to check out a book called "The Vegetarian Myth" by Lierre Keith. Most vegans hate her, but she was one herself for most of her life. She did a lot of hard thinking and wrote an incredible book about it.

No you won't offend me, trust me I'm desparate for ideas & will consider anything. I have thought about & researched the dietary issues, but I really don't think it has anything to do with eating vegan. I've been vegetarian for 15 years and felt much better eating this way than when eating meat, and really only had issues for the last 4 years or so. My gut tells me that's just not it -- and I haven't responded to the supplements at all either -- I don't know, I think gluten-free or an elimination diet is the next logical step if I can pull myself together enough to try it.

This is an older thread, so I am also going to send you a message-but your issues sound so similar to mine and I have finally gotten an answer-and its migraine disease.

there is so much more to migraine than 'just the headache'. People with migraine disease can have the pain you mention, the fatigue, the numbness, the tingling, etc...the 'one-sidedness' blurred vision...etc. You can be having symptoms of migraine without the 'head pain' of migraine. and you would be so surprised what the symptoms of migraine disease can be!

If you have an opportunity to get an mri-it may show evidence of migraine issue...you might want to look up a migraine specialist-not all neurologists are great migraine doctors.

i hope you are finding some relief.

Interesting that you say that, because I told my doctor 6 months ago that I feel like I am having migraines without the headaches!!

Is there a treatment for it?

I will say I've been feeling more functional on a gluten-free diet but I still have a long way to go before I'm anywhere close to 90-100%

I easilly could eliminate two of them and the remaining one was Lyme. I am waiting on my Igenex test. Next step is to test my children. Bot have mysterious health issues that never pan out. Both are still nursing and Lyme passes in bm and crosses the placenta. I have been very ill since feb but many of my symptoms have been there for years.

I have cleaned up my diet to the extreme and feel worse than I have ever felt. I'm now trying to decide how to proceed

Yes, this. Everything you list sounds like Lyme. I've had Lyme for 2 1/2 years, with the same symptoms as you describe. It destroys your life, even while your doctor tells you you're fine and maybe you just need more exercise.

Both of you, Pattyla and Crunchy Mommy, please go read this right now and do the symptom checklist.

If you do have Lyme it is NOT going to go away without treatment from a Lyme-literate doctor. The International Lyme & Associated Diseases Society can put you in touch with a doctor who will be able to help you if it is Lyme, or figure out what is going on if it isn't

treatments for migraine disease vary depending on the type of migraine you have.

i would suggest googling teri robert-she has a great website for migraine info and support-you may find a lot of the info you need there, or more insight.

hugs mama.
