My sweet little cupcake...

...is now 3 months old! Wow, how did this happen?? I feel like she should still be a teeny tiny newborn, but instead she's getting so much bigger.

She's around 11 lbs now, up from her lowest weight of 5 lbs 10 oz. She likes to coo and grin a TON, mostly at me and Papa, but also at other things she sees! She adores lights and music, and I have obliged her with a few toys of the variety I swore I'd never have...

She can roll from front to back, and onto her side from her back. I swear she's THIS close to giggling too, and I can't wait to hear it!! She loves being tickled even if the giggles don't come out quite yet. She likes to be sitting up on my lap or in the Bumbo (for about 5 minutes at a time), and when I sit her up on the changing table she balances for about 5 seconds before toppling into my waiting hands. She's a truly happy, wonderful baby!

Happy 3 monthiversary, my sweet Cecilia!

Yay! Isn't this a fun age?! I am realizing how much better suited I am to a bigger baby... I never thought I would be someone to be afraid of the teeny tiny newborn age, but looking back, I think I was! At 11 weeks, Symphony is "talking" all of the time, I feel really tuned into her (but not in the stressed out way where I felt always "on" in the past months), and we really enjoy playing and having little conversations. She is also taking better naps and although she prefers to be scrunched up against my armpit for them, she also seems to feel confident enough to sleep on her own more and more.
She is a BIG little chunk (over 11 lbs from her birth weight of 6 lbs 2 oz) and loves kicking her legs, sucking on her hands and fingers, grabbing cloth, smacking her lips together, and TALKING incessantly. And smiling big grins!

She's also getting along well with her father for the most part and he is enjoying her so much too. She goes to sleep with the sun, so 9pm around here lately, and still "wakes up" a few times a night to nurse, but really she seems to just be looking for reassurance, and doesn't wake all the way. I keep thinking I will let her wake until she cries (in case she can actually resettle without the boob) but I haven't been able to do it yet... sigh.

The mornings are still confusing to us both - she starts flailing like a crazy person (or fighting her swaddle - this morning I found her with one arm and one leg wormed out of the swaddle, so she was really fighting it!) for hours and only calms down periodically if I cuddle her and give her something (nipple or finger) to suck. She is better at finding her hands every day, but not when she's asleep, so I'm hoping that once she can find the fingers to slurp on in her sleep, she'll be able to keep sleeping longer. As it is, she will sleep until after 9am sometimes! But only if I keep jamming the boob in her mouth every half hour...
