What to do/ take to best prepare my body for a c/s?

So I will be having a c/s some time in the next 5 weeks. Totally fine with it emotionally, and I have had 3 before so I know what to expect procedure wise.

Until now I have been taking RRLT, EPO, etc for a vaginal birth, now I dont think I need them anymore? Because it doesnt really matter how soft my cervix is anymore does it? But what could I be taking to best prepare my body for a c/s and c/s recovery?

I will definitely be staying on my Floradix til delivery, since I know that will be a big one. Does anyone have any more suggestions to get my body in the best possible condition for the stress of a c/s?

Thanks!!

I would personally continue the RRLT, and add in nettle. The RRL is a uterine tonic, helping to keep the uterus strong and heal better. RRL and nettle are great blood builders (in a different way than floradix) and have good antioxidants-great for fighting infection.

I had a horrible PP intrauterine infection from my 2nd c-section. It landed me on IV antibiotics for 5 days. SOOO....I would take a good probiotic strain to boost immunity and flora for healing. Vitamin C and B vitamins (either in supplement form or high dose in diet) aid in healing and immunity, as well.

Best wishes from another mom of soon to be 6 from your DDC!

I'd say at this point most of your prep is mental. Focus on getting a good night sleep the day before the surgery, TALK to your baby before the surgery and let him know it will be his birthday. Take all of the energy that you would have spent coping with labor and instead try and channel it into quick healing. Best of luck with a peaceful birth.

I'd say just continue to eat well, and take the RRL tea. Keep up the Floradix, and get probiotics. I haven't personally started probiotics before a c-section, but I made sure to have them on hand for after my last one. They helped.

hmm...can't really think of anything else, except to stay as active as you can. The better shape you're in going in, the "easier" your recovery should be (not always true, of course, but not much is, imo).
