Gee... I can't even remember how many weeks I am these days! I'm such a space cadet!!

Ok, I just looked at a calendar, I'll be 28 tomorrow But I haven't even looked at the list my mw gave me yet... maybe I'll do that today!

I've been nesting, nesting and more nesting... so much stuff to clear out of our tiny little house so we can move in the baby stuff. Gotta go through all those nb and 0-3mo clothes from last time too.

Guess I better get to it, huh?!

Thanks for the info. I've been researching sitz herbs today and thinking about the prep factor. I like your idea. Does the babe bath with mama in this???

I bought washclothes today b/c I don't have any. I also bought tennis balls so I can put 2 in a sock for DH to roll on my back, some more tupperware for freezing more food and a spray bottle for some sitz herbs.

Dh moved a desk out the way b/c I think I want to hang from a low chin-up bar in the doorframe between the bathroom and the livingroom during the birth. So now there's room for someone to be there with me.

I really need to get on this. Not so much getting everything right now, but at least figuring out what all to get. I have a list from my midwife and all that stuff is a very easy trip to the drug store. But that is only for the birth. I've been reading and reading about what is helpful for postpartum, but haven't actually written down any of what I want... and some of that stuff I will have to order online. I think we decided to have all the supplies ready for my 34 or 36 week appointment. All my appointments are at home, so she can do it whenever, but I'm pretty sure we picked week 34, just so she will know in advance where everything is stored.

Yes, you can take the baby in the herbal bath with you. I did with my first two and they lost their cords by day 4. Not sure if it is related, but I was glad to be rid of those stinky things that soon!

I'm 30 weeks today and all I have is the Birth Pool (got another la bassine) and a huge ziplock of herbal soak after birth tea.
I really need to get on the ball with this!

The birth kit list from my midwife is relatively short
(nitrile gloves, chucks pads, gauze, shower curtain, 2 bowls, heating pad, umbilical kit, & peroxide) but i havn't managed to get a single thing of of it yet.
I guess I am just not thinking of how close to the end we are.

I do want to get some cramp bark, or after-ease (2 bottles this time!! thanks!) and some chlorophyl and floradix.
maybe a few homeopathics as well.

I'm all set for diapers, clothing and feeding. The clothing and diapers are all washed, folded, and set out on my bedroom bookcase. My breasts are, well, here.

I still have to put together some stuff for my birth kit though. Here the midwives bring things like a peri bottle, cord clamp and whatnot. But there are things I need to supply and I should get on that! My midwives won't homebirth until 37 weeks and, at almost 31 weeks, I still have a bit of time to get it together. I have my chux pads, maxi pads, tylenol, arnica, ect. I do have to pick up some flannel back table cloths and stuff though.

I can't believe that full term is 6 weeks away though!! I need to start thinking about this. I hadn't given it any thought. All my birth kit stuff that I've currently got is either stuff we had in the house already (thermometer, ect) or stuff that my sister gave me leftover from her recent homebirth in May.

Hmm, I just rechecked because 28 didn't sound right... yeah, I'm 29... did someone say space case?!

My copy of "Hello Baby" showed up. It's the new title of "Welcome with Love", which is a children's book about a homebirth told through the eyes of the youngest child in the family. I change out some of the names to DD, our dogs, our midwives, etc to make it more meaningful for DD. She loves it!

i got a list from my midwife yesterday... now i am feeling totally overwhelmed!! so much to .. collect.. the nesting urge is really taking on a whole new meaning with this homebirth thing.. i just want everything to be clean and organized and its not like i can really set all that up now.. i need to hold off a few weeks i guess.. but in the mean time.. i'm just going crazy.. i think i'm going to set up new-baby's dresser (needs to be painted) and get all her clothes and diapers washed.. set up the changing table .. and then put all the homebirth stuff on top of the dresser... then maybe i'll feel organized.. except that it will just look like a giant pile of crap.. awesome.. i just know that no matter how organized everything is, the midwife is going to ask DH for something and he won't be able to find it..

I'm 31wks and haven't done anything to prepare. I will order the birth kit by 35wks and start gathering supplies around that time too... Can't deliver at home before 37 wks so I'm not in a huge hurry.

I am starting to have the nesting "urge"... I keep thinking of all the things I want to do/organize before labor but all I do is think about it. One of these days.... lol

I'm 31.5 weeks and I've done pretty much nothing to prepare

I have clothes out but that's only because my nephew was born in January and as he's outgrown everything I've gotten it from his Mama. Some of it was already mine/ours (we share maternity and baby clothes) that my boys have worn and some of it was hers new for him but she's done having kids so she's getting rid of everything.

I need to get the diapers out and washed. I also need to start with a list of supplies and go from there. I don't even have that part yet.

I do however have a book of stuff for DP to read. We are planning our first UC so it's just some birth basics. This won't be his first birth he's at but it will be the first one where there isn't a midwife there.

And nesting... yeah... I should get on that. My house is a disaster

How's everyone doing? I'm getting so excited now. 35 weeks tomorrow. I've gotten my coconut water and prepared two big bags of sitz herbs. I'm about to wash all the little clothes and diapers and set up the diaper changing table and then do a food order from a healthfood shop so I have what I want in the house. DH took DD out so I have the day to think and do. Soooo nice!

I found this article over at the HB forum and printed it for DH. He's in charge of the birthing bed and my drink/food supply.

We had our home visit and I feel very prepared. I think all I need to do now is make sure I have the ingredients for the placenta smoothie my MWs will make. Yay!
Yep, everything is ready and I am now 34 weeks! I got it all together sooner then I thought I would thanks to some generous hand-me downs!

Have frozen strawberries and a container of concentrate to make OJ (that is what I used last time), plus my best friend is coming on the day of the birth to cut up the placenta into chunks for me to consume in multiple smoothies postpartum. Glad to know I am not the only one gearing up for raw placenta ;p

We had our first home visit yesterday. I'm feeling pretty prepared now. We have the birth kit and all the supplies in a tupper under our bed. My midwife said we have everything we need.

I'm currently decluttering our house and cleaning out our garage. I've washed all of the 0-3 clothes, blankets and diapers. We are still working on the babies room but I have a co-sleeper for the first several months.

I ordered birth kit, working on last few things on my own list... It was fun buying depends, DP thought I was buying them to use now haha. The pharmacist tech was totally clueless as to what Goldenseal was.
I have my home visit this Thu. and my doula friend and MW will both be here. MW is bring pool that day and I will be 36 weeks to the day!
I'm also planning to do placenta smoothie for the first time, my midwife will make the first one.
I'm sad that the older kids are leaving Friday for 2 weeks to go with their dad to see family before he deploys to Iraq. I am almost certain I will go into labor while they are gone. I know it's on the early side but I'm kinda hoping to go into labor Friday so they can be there for birth before they leave.

Not at all mama Doing a raw smoothie here with strawberries and raspberries that we picked and I froze with OJ mixed in, I plan on doing a smoothie right after and am encapsulating the rest with herbs. We have all of the supplies on our birth list (well except the case of coconut water which I still need to get) and we ordered the birth kit on Friday so it should be here next week...the FFN finally came back-NEGATIVE so I should have at least two weeks from last Thursday to get my heiney in gear

Cheers to all you mamas who have it all together!!

I'm pretty sure I've purchased everything I need. Still have some prep to do though. I'm going to freeze some depends, some with witch hazel and some just water. I'm also waiting on a couple of the things to get here. I bought a waterproof mattress pad so we could continue using it after and the hose for the tub. Speaking of tub, my midwife is bringing it to this week's appointment I'm eligible for a homebirth 2 weeks from wednesday, so that will give us a chance to do a run through with the tub and make sure everything we have for it works!

My big to do at this point is stocking the freezer. I'm only going to do a few meals, maybe a weeks worth, but I haven't even decided what yet. Second on the list is prepping all the cloth diapers.

I've done a whole lot of nothing. I have pulled out some of the baby clothes and blankets. The diapers are out anyway because we are using them. I'm working on a few things for the baby.

But, homebirth-wise. I've got nothing. I'm 34.5 weeks.

It is starting to bother me though...

Really life starts again this week, so I think I'll get into gear soonish.
