ETA: He just turned 3..
Is this some sort of passage I must go through as a mom before I can have my baby? I'm due any day really and over the last few weeks, DS has been acting out. Between his change in behavior, getting into trouble and not caring about it and more whining, I can't figure out what to do. I'm wondering if kids can sense the chaos before it comes?
We talk to DS about what he did wrong and he is often times able to tell us why he thinks we are angry BUT he continues to do it. Could it be looking for attention even negative attention? I really don't think we've changed how much interaction we give him during the day and I rarely talk about my giant belly unless he is about to jump on me.
Today at the gym daycare, the lady told my DH he kept putting himself in time out every 5 minutes and telling himself "ok time out". She said he wasn't in trouble or the few times she did correct him, he would automatically throw himself in time out even though he didn't need to be there. Needless to say, he has been in time out at home about twice in the last month so it is not like we overdo it- we prefer to talk it out.
He is also boycotting lunch and dinner... argh... advice? I don't let him snack beforehand and I don't offer him anything other than what is on his plate.
