Help! I have a month to look better in my swimsuit!!! - Page 2

Awesome! For the times you're starving, maybe a low carb diet would be helpful? I have no idea how that works with medication, but I do know that I've never found it so easy to eat so little until I switched. I had no idea.

Quick update: I got the Jillian Micheal's dvd as recommended by a pp, but still need weights. So I'm just doing pushups and tricep dips for now. Hope to have weights by next week.

Other than that, I have a sore throat after just getting over a bug

You don't have to wait to get weights.

I'm pretty out of shape so I couldn't do Jillian's dvd with the smallest weights I had (5 lb.) so I just used soup or bean cans instead!

Quick update:

I did 100 push ups the other day and think I finally see some (minor, teeny tiny) improvement in my arms.

Today I walked up 200 steps, ran up 200 steps and then did interval cardio training for 1 mile followed by 60 pushups and 40 tricep dips.

Not sure how my legs are doing.

Diet is not good enough for weight loss (I'm eating some fruit and corn--summer produce is a weak point, I'm trying to not regret it and just enjoy as the season will pass).

I have the weights and just need time for the Jillian Micheals DVD.

Here's how I did it. It's a story.

I was taking karate classes and we had a 5000 challenge. Pick a technique we wanted to work on and do 5000 reps in 90 days. I picked push ups because I wanted to build my upper body strength.

I did modified push-ups for a loooooong time but toward the end of the challenge, I was doing military style pushups.

It was hard and I had to do hundreds of pushups everyday to stay on track, but the strength gains stayed with me. Even if I'm out of shape, I have the base strength to do modified pushups, which is more than many can do.

Now the 100 I did, the form was not perfect, I'm still working on my strength.

Thanks. I have a long way to go, but I hit my workout milestones at least.

Well done on the 100 pushups! I was stuck at 5 for the longest time and finally was able to get past 10 at a shot but then my shoulders started clicking so I now do 10 a week until that's all healed!
