Diarrhea and diaper rush in 3 month old baby during abx

My 3 month old DD was put on Amoxicillin 1tsp twice a day (400 strength) due to her UTI. She was given ceftrioxone in the hospital. I am giving her 1/2 tsp twice daily (she would not take more) and praying it would help in clearing the infection. But she has diarrheA and now diaper rush. I change her million times day and wash her bottom instead of using wipes. I give her probiotics, put it on my finger and swipe inside of her mouth. What do I do now? I am afraid of stopping abx (we just started them on Tuesday) for fear of infection coming back. Please help if you BTDT.

Stopping abx prematurely leads to resistant bacteria.

Diarrhea is a typical side effect of antibiotics. The rash could be from the diarrhea or it could be yeast forming as a result of the abx. I would continue probiotics for at least a couple weeks after stopping the abx if it were my child.

You might try a vinegar solution to spray on her rash to see if it gets better. Vinegar can halt a yeast diaper rash.and
