Inserts for FB other than MicroFiber?

Just wondering if anyone who uses Fuzzi Bunz has any experience with stuffing them with something other than the mircofiber inserts that come with them?

I have about 15 mediums that I am using on my second babe and the inserts don't seem as absorbent as they used to be. I have some new FBs as well, and the new inserts are, of course, fluffier and thicker.

In doing the research into buying new inserts, I realize that there is a whole world of options.

I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, and probably won't replace all 15 at one time.

So does anyone have any experience with inserts that they like in FBs? What brands do you like? Specifically, anyone tried Willow Sprout Organic Hemp inserts in FB? What about other brands of hemp? I want something that is as absorbent as the MFs, which hold 120z.

I use prefolds, flats, and flannel receiving blankets as inserts.

With DS, we used folded prefolds (I think the "regular" size, not infant). When he got bigger or overnight, we added one or two WAHM hemp doublers inside the folded prefold. Held TONS of pee -- like maybe 24oz? I'd check out some WAHMS for doublers and definitely consider prefolds since you may have some or they can be found used at great prices! The microfleece inserts never impressed me with their absorbency.

Prefolds and joeybunz hemp stuffers (don't even know if they still make those!)

Another vote for prefolds but I also don't care for hemp or microfiber. Prefolds hold pee great and are super cheap and easy to clean!

I fold my prefolds on half and then in half again. So they are the shorter and have lots of layers on the wet zone of dd. Works like a charm.

In the same boat - using FBs from my DD on DS (and they are STILL the best diapers in the stash!). When I bought the first of them, they didn't even come with inserts.

I have two alternate inserts:

The predecessor to these - which are great

Loopy-dos

I don't really have a preference - they both seem to work well, and they're both very trim.

I've never seen the jamtots hemp inserts. They look like something I might want to try.

I decided to give the assortment of inserts/dipes I already have a trial run in the FBs to see how they work: a prefold in one, a Best Bottom hemp in one, a Best Bottom mf in one, one of the older FB MF inserts + Hemp babies doubler in one and two FB MFs in another.

We'll see how it works.

That's what we used to use too. I've been out of the CDing loop for a while though.
