Yoga Mamas - Going with the Flow of Summer

Hi everyone! I just had to start another thread. Community means quite a bit to me, its just that my time comes in spurts.

How is everyone's practice going?
I have moved back to Hatha yoga and right now Vinyasa is really speaking to me. I do love Baron Baptiste's Strength of Soul. I just discovered Seane Corn!!! I have also been exploring the teaching of Shiva Rea, but found her Sun Salutations DVD hard to follow even after my exploring yoga for 10 years. I'm kind of fearful of trying any of the others by buying them. I'm not going to stop using it though. Just take my time. Also, my practice time has changed DD2 is no longer a consistent napper. I am having to get up at 6:30am to practice, but I have kind of enjoyed that. I'm just so stiff in the morning. and tired.

Question of the season:
What has yoga done for you that you would have never expected from it?
-Become a spiritual practice more than anything else I do.
-Tone my body better than anything else I've done before including weightlifting. I didn't use to believe Madonna about how she got and maintained her body. I do now. But, I appreciate the work she has done on a totally different level. Not so much about the "body" anymore.

Also wanted to share a sequence I created for those of us who need a more grounded/restorative practice during our moontime.
  • Virasana (Hero Pose)
  • Agnistambhasana (Fire Logs)
  • Upavistha Konasana (Wide-Angle Seated Forward Bend)
  • Bharadvajasana 1 (Twist)
  • Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle)
  • Janu Sirsasana (Head-to-Knee Forward Bend)
  • Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes)
  • Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)
  • Dandasana (Staff)
  • Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle) with props

My moontime seems to be in a delicate state right now, and I am finding a seated practice to be so helpful. All of these poses can be found with detail on Yoga Journal's website.
