Although I do payroll for a company, I have no idea how to guide employees when they have questions about how many dependents to claims for their withholding tax.
Does anyone know of a simple on-line resource where I could direct them?
For example - Most set their withholding so they get $2,500 to $5,000 back as a refund but I have a single dad wanting to change his withholding because he needs more cash each week. Having to pay in would create a serious issue for him, therefore he needs to educate himself as much as possible.
I don't want to be giving them advice but I would like to say "here, check out this website for more information...."
