Has anyone here read the Sookie Stackhouse series, at least to #6 (Def. Dead)? *Possible Spoilers*

I finished Dead as a Doornail last night (which is #5) and I thought Definitely Dead was #6, but she's talking about all this stuff that I can't remember from previous books and I feel like I missed something.

For example, she's talking a lot about her cousin, Hadley's, death and how the Queen came to her (Sookie's) home and brought the murderer to Sookie to decide how to punish him...but I don't remember reading about any of that.

Did I skip a book?

I mean, she picked right up with Quinn from the last book, and there doesn't seem to be a great passage of time taking place between DAAD and this one, but I feel like a bunch of stuff has been left out.

No, I think Charlaine Harris described all that in another book. Not one of the main ones from the series. Check here, if you scroll down to the short stories, there's lots of Sookie stuff.

I felt like you though, like I'd missed something.

Funny, about a year ago I read the series and wrote a similar post to MDC! When I got to that part about her cousin Hadley I was so confused and thought I skipped a book.

You didn't miss anything as far as the book series goes but there is a short story which explains more about Hadley. It's in a couple of different anthologies.

I read the whole book series, though, before I read any of the short stories so you can keep going if you want!

Thank you! I thought I was crazy. The titles and covers are all so similar that I was sure I'd missed something.
