Does the us Department of education really require this? - Page 2

That box always confuses me, too. We adopted our children (2 of them are birth sibs) and we know through birth mom that maternal gma was from Chile. We were also told that both father's were of hispanic/spanish origin, but both kids look painfully caucasian. My other daughter has a blonde haired, blue eyed (see through crystal clear blue eyes!) birth mom, but her father was of spanish origin and she looks like an incredibly exotic hispanic/AA (we sometimes suspect AA because most of her birth sibs are Caucasian/AA).

So, we usually check "white" for race, and "hispanic" for origin. But who knows 100% for sure?

That's what I always do... worked for the census. Do they have an "other" line?
