Homeschool Buyers Coop has Sing, Spell, Read and Write at 40% off. I'd never heard of it before I joined this community, but people here mention it all the time as being really great. It seems pretty expensive even at 40% off, though. The preschool version is $75 (from $125), K plus Level 1 is $245 (from $409), Level 1 alone is $185 (from $308), and Level 2 is $42 from $70. Is that really a good deal? So if I wanted to buy preschool, K+1, and 2, it would be $362. Which hardly makes it the most expensive curriculum in the world, but it also isn't exactly dropping $30 at B&N on "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" and calling it a day.
If you used it, do you think it's worth buying? Should I buy the preschool version too, or just the K and save it for when my DD is ready? She's 3 now, but pretty stubborn in only learning what she's interested in (she only knows about 1/2 her colors) so I'm thinking that I'll probably need something fun to teach reading. And if I can use it with my 2 younger children as well, it's really not that expensive ($40 per child per year for a complete language arts curriculum that'll last from preschool through 2nd grade? I could do worse).
