Radio host complains about breastfeeding in public - Page 2

Blogged about this and shared a link to the show's transcript so that we can continue to spread the work about this without driving traffic up on their site listening to the show (as that is why they are so offensive, to make people mad and get them talking all to drive traffic to their site and thus the advertisers).

Here is my post and my letter to Lisa: http://ht.ly/29taZ

If I lived in SC, I'd print off a whole bunch of the bf law, grab my closest nursing friends and have a nurse-in in front of that radio station and at that same Chikfila (my first job in high school btw!). Chikfila, if I remember right, is a Christian company and that could also be touted should they get any hassle at the actual restaurant. It sounds like they didn't but my friend was recently hassled at the good ol' YMCA, in which I know that C stands for Christian. Nurse on sisters of South Carolina!

There will be a nurse-in at the station on August 2nd. There will also be more nurse-ins at affiliate stations around the country. Here is more information:

Hey, I should have thought to post this to this discussion sooner. Anyway, I live in Greenville, SC, the location of the radio show station where the comments were made.

I went to the Greenville, SC Nurse In, took photos and wrote some web articles about it. It was great to meet Elizabeth, the organizer of the event and the other moms who attended the Greenville Nurse In. The 3rd article contains a slide show that you can click through to see about 13 photos of the Nurse In.

I wanted to give the event lots of web exposure so I wrote/posted 6 articles last week, all related to the issue.

Here are links to the articles:

The first 2 articles are before the nurse in -- explaining the comments and announcing the nurse in and the others were written about what happened at the Greenville Nurse In and the organizer of the event.

Moms outraged: Negative breastfeeding comments from Russ and Lisa Radio Show

Nurse In peaceful protest scheduled for August 2 at Greenville area radio station WORD 106.3

Nurse In event: Greenville, SC moms nurse babies outside radio station in protest

Elizabeth Hitchcock: Organizer of Nurse In, peaceful protest in Greenville, SC and other US cities

Upstate moms support public breastfeeding at peaceful protest

And this article is actually a vote/poll about public breastfeeding:

Public breastfeeding poll: Does it offend you to see a woman nursing in public?
