What do you use for a toy basket?

So, up until yesterday, we had these square wicker baskets all over the house for Sam's (1.5 yr lab) toys. He knew which baskets were his and it has been working really well.

Yesterday he ATE his toy basket in the kitchen. He was courteous enough to dump the toys out first, into a very nice pile.

What do you all use? I need something that will last but look nice. I love these baskets because they are cute and had removable liners I could wash. But clearly I need to replace this one with something that cannot be destroyed easily.

We generally just toss them on the dog beds.

But then he gives you this look like, "how am I supposed to snuggle up for my nap with all these toys on here?" Seriously, I moved them this morning to one corner of his bed so he could nap...as he was standing there, perched on one section looking from the toys to me. Once I moved them he immediately laid down like, "oh, finally I can relax."

What about a little dog bed or cat bed? I was thinking about getting one for Jupiter's toys. I want to teach him to pick up his toys too!

We have a small plastic laundry basket.

And they'll learn about toys... but they will take them out, not put them in. : My dogs watch and see me make the rounds picking up their toys and go right behind me to pull a couple out.

Hrm, that's not a bad idea but I'm afraid he'll think that's one giant puppy toy and work very very hard to get every inch of stuffing out. 'Cause you know, that IS his puppy job for all things stuffed.

My husband suggested a metal pail. I'm afraid he'll throw it around like a giant toy and dent my floor.

The only thing I can think of is a plastic milk crate but darn, that is gonna be ugly in my kitchen!

This dog is driving me crazy today. Too hot for a walk and in the last 24 hours he's destroyed his toy basket, a kitchen towel and a roll of toilet paper. It needs to cool off so he'll agree to go outside again.

I had the same problem as you when one of my dogs was younger, she started eating the basket. I then bought a giant-sized plastic dog water bowl (think great dane size) and put the toys in there, it kept them neat and was indestructable and couldn't be tipped.

However now I just throw them in a corner of the floor between their bed and the crate.

That's an awesome idea! Thank you.

As a previous Great Dane owner, you'd think I would have thought of this.
