Want to dye something-please help!

Hi crafty mamas, Im hoping someone could help me out with this:

I want to dye some cotton muslin baby blankets, and I have never dyed anything in my life. I want to use all natural dyes, and I know nothing about them (are they vegetable, else?). I want to dye white muslin into light and pretty earthtones like pinky beige etc.

Where can I buy the dye? Again, has to be chemical free as much as possible since these blankets will be used for a newborn.

I don't have any experience with using natural dyes but I love this site. They have a good basic tutorial for using natural dyes with simple alum and iron mordants.

As far as where to get the materials, well they have some there, too. A bulk herb section at the market might have some options as well.
