Abdominal Pain

On Wednesday night, I started having some pretty nasty abdominal pain in my lower right quadrant. I get ovarian cysts on occasion and figured that was what was happening. By last night, I hurt so badly I went to the ER. It had spread around to my back and was radiating out. They did ultrasounds to rule out kidney stones (I get these too) and appendicitus and found a small cyst (2.5 cm) on my right ovary.

The issue is the pain. I've had much larger cysts (5 cm on my left ovary and 7 cm on my right at our last go around) and they didn't hurt nearly this badly. I tried to explain it to the nurse at my urogynecologists office (did I mention I also have other "female" issues such as a cystocele, vaginal prolapes, etc) and she was pretty condescending about it. ER sent me home with Dilaudid and several anti-inflammatories. They aren't really touching the pain and it is my understanding that the Dilaudid is strong stuff.

What on earth do I do? My urogynecologist's nurse offered to have me come up (they are an hour away) and be seen but when I asked her what they could do for this, she basically said nothing. I'm hurting so badly that I had to send my kids off to a friend because I can't take care of them right now. Please help!

Thanks for asking and for the hugs.

It is still really painful. Luckily, my DH came home for the weekend to help with the kids as my friend left to go camping and the rest of my friends are pretty busy this weekend. I just don't get why it hurts so badly.
