I didn't know I was pregnant - Page 3

If I hadn't been charting/paying attention to EVERYTHING re: TTC, I would have definitely missed at least the first month with this pregnancy. I started spotting the day I was expecting my period and, although it was light, it was on and off for several days. Actually, because of that, I almost didn't test that month at all.

I know of 2 people that didn't know they were pregnant until they were actually in labor. One responded to a 'how could these women be SO stupid??' thread on another board with "It happened to me, and I'm not stupid, so yeah, it happens!". She's not only heavy, but fairly tall, so she never had much of a bump. She just went to the hospital one night with severe stomach pains....and came home with a baby.

The other was a friend of DP's in college. It's funny because when he first described her to me (and I don't remember why he was describing her body type), he said "She's one of those girls who has really skinny, muscular legs, but carries more weight in her mid-section". Three months later, she delivered a baby. (DP & several of his friends did mention that they suspected she'd had an idea she was pregnant, but was in denial. Who knows)

I know several people who didn't know they were pregnant until they were pretty far along.

One friend was abusing drugs A LOT. She really wasn't paying attention. It wasn't until she was about 5 months along that she realized she was pregnant. She freaked out, convinced she caused permanent damage to her unborn child, but he's now a healthy 10 year old boy. She's about 5'9" and 170 lbs, so not huge but not tiny, either.

My cousin didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 6 months along. She is very thin, so it's surprising she didn't show beforehand. She went to the doctor because she was concerned about some weight gain. Other than the weight gain, though, she had no idea. She had regular "periods" the entire pregnancy.

I know two women who didn't find out they were pregnant until they were in labor. One had only had sex one time. She was rather large to begin with and her periods weren't regular. One morning, she got up and was in extreme pain. Her mother rushed her to the hospital thinking she had appendicitis. Turned out she was having a baby girl.

Another friend, also a larger woman, lost her partner in a house fire less than 2 weeks after conception. She thought all the pregnancy symptoms were stress related to his death. Previously, she had been told she was infertile. So, she was quite surprised when she went to the hospital with back pains and cramps, only to discover she was in labor. She ended up having a c-section, having a full term baby boy.
