Lemon sheet cake?

Ds2 has requested a lemon flavored cake for his birthday. For various reasons, I don't want to do a layer cake - I just want a lemon flavored sheet cake with the basic cream cheese/butter frosting that we usually make. I assume I will use lemon extract, but I can't find a recipe that doesn't use cake mix. Any ideas?

I use a basic white cake recipe (allrecipes.com) has lots and then add lemon extract to it to taste.

When do you need the recipe by? My step mother used to work in a cakery and they made a delicious lemon raspberry cake. The cake part was just lemon, and the filling was raspberry, so you could just follow the part for the cake. But I probably won't be able to get the recipe until sometime next week.

I need to make the cake by Tuesday, but I would the recipe for future reference!

That 7-up cake looks interesting . . . Do you know if it would work the same with a "natural" version of 7-up, like Hansens?
