Need Help!

Background - Hubby has BPII. Was diagnosed last June.

Okay, we haven't had much sleep this week in our house. Hubby is really, really down. It's scaring me a little. At first he said he was tired. Well by Tuesday, I told him "No you aren't, you are depressed." Which he denied. But now I think he has come to realize he is depressed.

He has been taking his meds. Is this a normal to be so down even on meds? Do we just ride it out?

He took an Ambien and went to bed at 7:30.

He is also complaining his stomach is upset. Not sure what that is all about.

Any ideas? He takes Invega, Lamictal and Celexa.

He just saw his Therapist last Monday.

I'm so sorry to hear he's feeling depressed.
How long is it until his next appt? It might be worth a call to let them know how bad he's feeling.
Depression can cause you to feel sick to your stomach so it could be that's what is happening there.
I hope things get better soon.

We've been through this with dh and I've found that, when in doubt, contact the therapist immediately. Dh has been in a horrible depression for the last year while on meds. He's needed to switch meds several times. He also complains of stomach aches. Your dh may not need to switch meds or anything, the concern is usually higher if depression lasts more than 2 weeks but I don't take any chances with dh. I hope he gets better soon-bipolar sucks for everyone involved and can be very scary.

He was okay most of yesterday. But by last night he was crabby again.

Today he is okay. Definately better than last week.

I'm continueing to watch him. If he seems worse or no better tomorrow morning I will have him call the Therapist and Psych.

Thank you for your help!
