Need a spine that is earthy/spiritual

Hello. My dd will start K this fall. I have all the curriculum picked out: Right Start, HWOT, SOTW, etc. I'm looking for a spine that is earthy/waldorfy/spiritual (secular), to give rhythm to our day and soul to our rather dry curriculum picks. I'm looking for something that has a lot of ideas for crafts, songs, activities, etc- preferably something seasonal/nature based. Any suggestions??

subbing for ideas too

no specific ideas, but i'd look for some sort of waldorf curriculum ( think there are reviews on here, or you could search) and just adapt that to meet my needs. i thought about doing this, because there are some aspects of waldorf i love, and some i'm not so crazy about.

We use a pretty classical curriculum with my DS (8), I also have a DS(4) and DD(1.5). We love these two sites. You can download one month at a time or a whole year. Lots of songs, crafts, nature stories, etc.

It doesn't seem like anyone around here has used it, but Global Village School was mentioned awhile back. It looks like it might be somewhat like you're looking for. I've considered it, but I'm hesitant given that no one seems to have used it before. I believe it was less than $100 for K.

Thank you :-) I am going to check out all the great suggestions. I'm thinking that Little Acorn could be exactly what I'm looking for. We are tentatively planning a classical curriculum but I really need something to pull it together and make it more holistic.

We really enjoy Little Acorn.

You might want to read the Waldorf book Heaven on Earth for ideas. It isn't a curriculum so much as just a book about rhythm, getting into nature, focusing on the seasons, and cultivating your family culture. From that point, then I think you can tailor your own curriculum. We will be buying bits and pieces from Enki, A Little Garden Flower, Nature stories from the site Yesterday's Classics, and focusing on the seasons and festivals like we already do. We're not even touching math in kindy except for games.

I'm REALLY drawn to Enki. But we will be starting a light classical curriculum, so I wonder if it will be too much, cost wise and material?

Maybe AM's Seasons of Joy?

You don't have to buy the packages which makes it somewhat cheaper (although it's still pricey!).

The book Seven Times the Sun might be of interest, too.

Earthways has some really great seasonal ideas. I'm not sure if it's still being published, but I've seen it used.

I'm contemplating either Seasons of Joy or Little Acorn Learning myself.

Earthschooling! You get TONS of material, and with a lifetime membership you get every grade she has, plus videos, verses, and whatever gets added

Don't forget Christopherus. Even if you don't use the actual curriculum, there are some good guides for getting into a Waldorf-y state of mind.

subbing (please post links if you have them!)
