Pureed foods

How long should pureed foods last in the refrigerator without it starting to taste funny? I notice my pureed foods (sweet potato or zucchini or pumpkin mixed with water) seem to get kind of sour tasting the next day. Is it just the foods from where I am living (in a foreign country)? I am sure it's not spoiled since it happens every time, even if I use fresh foods, but I wonder how I can prep for the next day without it tasting icky. Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion! I actually did look into baby led weaning and skipping the purees. However, because of DS's food intolerances, I find that if I puree his foods, his symptoms clear up. So until I get his gut flora balanced, I am pureeing almost everything.

I just was curious for those who do puree, whether you find that it turns sour-like, and if so, what do you do? Thanks!

Well, to actually answer your question...

I don't keep many purees in the fridge for too long, but a day or so seems fine. I'll generally make a bigger batch of something in the food processor and then freeze it in cubes. I use a freezer tray like this, but you could just use regular ice cube trays too. That way, I always have food on hand and don't have to worry about it spoiling in the refrigerator.
