Swim diaper (aka baby) ban in community pools - Page 5

I live in Utah where there was a huge crypto outbreak a few years back. State law is that children who are not potty trained must wear a sposie swim diaper and a regular swim diaper. I remember they had a segment on the news where they put oatmeal in a sposie swim diaper and with and without the rubber pants over and put a kid in the water with them. It was pretty gross to see how much came out from the sposie alone.

Because of that, i don't gripe that my 9 mo DD has to wear both our our local public pool. 3.5 Ds, on the other hand, who has been potty trained for two years also has to until he is 4, and that just pisses me off.

I'm amazed that there is so much discussion about this... maybe I've just been living in a bubble, but I've been to a lot of pools and I've never heard of a baby/diaper ban or restriction to the wading pool.

Pools around here have switched to requiring cloth swim diapers (no disposables), because they are very effective at keeping poop contained.

I would be livid if I couldn't take my baby to a pool! We love swimming with our whole family! But, my guess is that a private organization is within it's rights to make a rule like this.

Our municipal pool hosts a baby swim class every week... so, yeah, I don't get the "baby ban" at all....
