Discovery Education

I just signed up for the Homeschool Buyers co-op and started browsing their selections. I saw Discovery Science is 76% off. I was wondering if anyone has used it? Likes? Dislikes? I don't have a lot of cash to spend on hs this year, but I can see this useful for the whole family, our hs group, ect.

I have it, and like it.

A lot of the videos are the sort of thing you would have watched as in-class movies as a kid - you know, very "educational" with poor acting and production values. So you definitely have to do some sifting.

But there are also great things: a complete Elementary Spanish curriculum, episodes of great shows like Magic School Bus, Between the Lions, and Reading Rainbow, great animal videos, shows about living in other cultures, kids' exercise videos, etc.

I have a 5yo, so I'm less familiar with the resources for older kids.

Discovery Education is different from Discovery Science. I think the previous poster was commenting on Discovery Education, which we have also have ane enjoy. My DD is a science nut so I've considered Discovery Science, but I've decided to focus on hands-on science for now.

If you're talking about Discovery Education Streaming, we have it and enjoy it. It's useful for so many subjects, but you have to make sure you take advantage of it to be worth it! I want to start the Elementary Spanish program up soon.
