Hi, I recently started cloth diapering my 2yo. We're using gDiapers, with a mix of gCloth inserts and gFlappers from the Nappy Shoppe (mostly help + microfiber).
We also just moved into a new house we're renting which came with a front-loading washer. I've been pretty happy with the washer so far... but am frustrated about finding what kind of soap to use. I seem to be getting LOTS of suds, even when using HE detergents (I'm using both Dropps Baby and All Small & Mighty Free & Clear, both of which I saw were rated highly for use with cloth diapers in charts I found online), and I use only about 1/2 the recommended amt of soap. The thing is, even during the extra rinse I notice a good deal of suds still in the water. I thought HE detergents were supposed to be "low sudsing" so why all the suds still? Are some He detergents more "HE" than others? Or is this just normal? Do I need to run a full second wash cycle w/o soap to fully rinse them out? I think we also have hard water, if that makes a difference...
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
