At ~32 months.
Six weeks ago, DS was down to about three nursing sessions per day: When I got home, at bedtime, and an early morning one (somewhere between 3 and 5:30 am. Gah.)
I had managed to cut down to about three nursing locations: one couch, his toddler bed, and our bed.
So I started merging the after-work and bedtime sessions first. Delaying nursing when I got home, and sometimes nursing on the couch before bedtime instead of in bed.
About two weeks ago, he started refusing to brush his teeth. I set up a new rule that he couldn't nurse at bedtime unless he brushed his teeth. I'd still snuggle with him, he got mommy time, water, and pacifier, but not milk. Apparently he was fine with that arrangement. (So now I need to find a new motivation to brush teeth.)
About Thursday morning, I snuggled with him instead of nursing at the early morning session. Yesterday and this morning, he was fine with the snuggling and hasn't had any milk.
He still hasn't liked cow milk, but will sometimes drink chocolate milk. He's good with cheeses though.
