best couch for bfing?

I have really cheap foldout loveseat thingamajig from IKEA that's really pretty much garbage at this point. I've never found it comfortable and it's really hard and the arms are wooden with a very thin layer of padding on them. basically it's all around uncomfortable and i hate it.

anyway, i think it's time to buy a *real* couch, and since i plan on owning whatever i end up with when it's time for baby #1, i was wondering what sort of things i should look for so i'll be comfy bfing.

any tips on height? fluffiness? floofiness? fabrics for easy cleanup?

I've heard leather is best for cleanup though we've never owned leather. We have a dark green fabric that doesn't really show much. It's like 11 years old and doesn't look awful. We have a full couch with 3 sections. The middle section has a table that can fold down. The 2 end sections recline. (It came with massagers on both ends but those no longer work-I HIGHLY recommend them though!). I LOVE my couch for a couple of reasons. This time around I ended up with an unplanned c-section. I could NOT lay down in my bed-it hurt and I couldn't get out. I ended up sleeping on the couch for about 5 or 6 weeks. Because of all the swelling from water, the recliner was great because I could put my feet up easily-we put 2 pillows under them even with it reclined. Even with my feet up, I could still be in a more sitting position (easier for bf'ing) or I could lean back more (easier for sleeping). I liked the table (not just for convenience) because I'd prop a pillow under my arm and the pillow kept it in place. I felt like baby was very secure because (I co-slept) the pillow & thus my arm couldn't move from that position. Dh still had to help me in and out for the first 10-14 days but it was the best option all around. I still love it for bf'ing, again I still (at 3 months) use the table to prop the pillow under my arm.

Have fun shopping!!!
