Help me with what to do...Warning..TMI

I have been having abdominal bloating and pain and uncomfortableness...(Is that a word?) I'm not having normal (for me) bm's, and my guts seemed to have be slowing down. I have bouts of nausea. For at least 3months now.

I've been to the doctor. We've gone over several things. Tried Magnesium Citrate (he thought I had an impaction) and I'm still in the same spot. Now he's recomending a colonoscopy. I'm not against that, but, the cost is prohibative and we are supposed to go see a reproductive endocrinologist this week.

I am just hoping someone here might have ideas or something.
We've looked over everything I've been taking and doing, and nothing seems too abnormal.
Help!

I think your syptoms sound like yeast overgrowth. This is what happens to me when it gets out of control. There are tons of ways to 'fight' yeast. Candidase is a therpeutic enzyme to use between meals, it is natural and safe. The bottle says donor once a day, I would take 2 pills 3x a day between meals. Also tons and tons of probiotics, water kefir is a great and cheap way. Work your way up slowly.

Punchy Kaby-interesting you say that. I just started having symptoms yesterday of a vag. yeast infection too.
I'm going to go and get some of the Candidase, as soon as I figure out where to get it.
Thanks so much! Hopefully that's it. I have noticed too that when I eat cookies or something sweet, I really don't feel well right after. Very interesting.

I would go for the colon scope for sure just to make sure there's nothing growing in there causing the nausea etc.

I'd do the colonoscopy and, if it fits, have ovaries checked too. I'd ask for a celiac test.

If nothing is found (or now actually if you can swing the cost) I'd run a metametrix comprehensive stool test. If something is living in there it will tell you (symptoms say likely) and tell you how to treat. It will also look at markers for digestion, food reactions, etc. Our insurance did cover ours (reimbursed though) at out of network.

If I were carrying certain bacterias or parasites that could be passed to a baby I'd want to know so I'd consider these tests before pursuing RE treatment.

Wonky question, have you considered a pregnancy?

I only ask because...

I have a 20 month old that took 6 years and an IVF to conceive. When we did the IVF, my RE told us that we would never have gotten pg on our own, due to antisperm antibodies and a host of other minor issues.

When she was 8 months old, I went on anti-depressants for PPD. One of the side effects of the med that I ended up on was that it increased prolactin levels in my blood, which inhibited my ovulation, and I went 6 and then 8 weeks between AFs.

At Christmas time, I began have symptoms very similar to what you describe. Lots of pain, bloating, uncomfortableness. In fact, I clearly remember, the evening of Christmas, telling DH that I had had so many problems with that that week, that I was going to call the doc once the holiday was over. Well, as it turns out, it did subside somewhat, but I became increasingly more nauseaous. The other symptoms were still present, though I decided not to call the doc.

I had already begun weaning myself off the anti depressants, and AF hadn't shown, I wasn't sure when to expect it. By New Years, I was totally weaned off, and by January 17, still no AF, so I did take a test.

SURPRISE! DH and I did not need another IVF, and I have a little one due in September. I apparently conceived just shortly before Christmas and the bloating and total disarray of my digestive tract was my first symptom.

Even if AF has been normal, you might consider an hpt if you haven't already checked that out.

Thanks guys! Ya'll are giving me lots of good ideas and info.
My doc did send me with orders for a stool test, have to look and see what all it tests for.
I had wondered about the pregnancy thing. But the chances are so unlikely. I had my period 2 weeks ago. I guess stranger things have happened. That would be awsome!
I'll start there and then go with the stool test. Dh wants to keep the RE appt., so we'll see where that takes us. If nothing shows up, we'll do the colonoscopy.
Thanks again, and please feel free to post more. I'll update when I find anything out.

Update:
Today, and at my doctor's recommendation, I took a prilosec. My "guts" still ache a bit, kind of like after a serious workout and your muscles are sore. But, I've been able to eat so far, and not had any real pain.
Interesting.
Could this have been an ulcer or something, and it's getting relief?
What's everyone's opinion?
Dh is going to pick up a pg test tonight, and I'll test in the morning. Just to be sure.
And I'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow. I'm praying that this is the beginning of healing and thanking God that I've had a good day!
