Weird baby movement...shivering/vibrating?

I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant, and for the last several weeks I've noticed a strange movement about once or twice a day...a short shivering/vibrating sensation. It only lasts for a second or two, and is usually at the end of other kicking movements.

There's no pattern to it, so I'm not worried about it being seizures, but at the same time it does kind of worry me.

What is this? Does anybody else feel these movements?

Oh, I definitely had this with DS1, and remember freaking out about it. A friend mentioned during a recent pregnancy that she had something similar. I was worried about it being something really weird/bad. In the end, it was nothing. I mean, I have no idea what it was, but DS was in perfect health. Same true for my friend's baby! I haven't felt it this pregnancy, I don't think, but I feel a lot less due to anterior placenta. I wouldn't worry!

I had it with DS... all I can imagine it is is that when he came out... if he would yawn or stretch he would tense his muscles which causes his body to shiver a little. Thats the only connection I was able to make to the movement after he was born.

I get it all the time with all 5 of my pregnancies, I never thought to worry. Babies always make weird movements

I've had it happen a few times too. I googled it and was reassured.

I think it's a startle reflex, Moro. They loose their thumb or maybe the cord brushes their face and get that startle shake. I hear it pretty often and every baby has been fine. I swear that most mamas describe it as a 'seizure' mov't. No worries.

Another to-be mama (28 weeks) w/ the same thing! DP felt it happen over the weekend when we were resting in bed, and she was like "what the HELL is she doing???! Is she okay?"

I told her it was out little jitterbug doing the shimmy shake. I have felt it quite a few times, but never thought to worry! I guess since this is my first, I have naivety on my side; I don't worry about a whole lot of the pregnancy "weirdness" I experience.
