red tip/WWYD?

I noticed this morning that he tip of my 3.5 yr old ds's intact penis is red. He isn't in pain and is urinating normally. Should I do anything about it at this point? I am inclined to monitor it for a few days (during which time I will be worrying constantly) and see if it goes away. WWYD?

I'd just monitor it. It will likely clear up in a day or so. Has he taken bubble baths or been swimming in a chlorinated pool? New detergent perhaps?

I wouldn't do anything but if it persists, I found that letting my boys soak in a bath with some baking soda sprinkled in always cleared things up within a day.

Yes, we have a pool and he has been spending a lot of time in it these past couple of days. I gave him a baking soda bath after he got out this afternoon. Thanks for your replies.

For a red tip, I'd put Burt's Bees diaper cream on it (we still use it when DS complains about his butt even though he's been in underwear for years now.)
