18month increase nursing-nipple in mouth while sleeping-NORMAL?

He has cut all teeth except 2 year molars. We don't plan on weaning. He just seems to want the nipple and won't let go. He's done this usually when teething - can't tell if he is right now. Plus the increase, wanting to nurse for every little bump!

Tell me it will get better!!!!

DD has always nursed and slept on me for naps. Nipple stays in her mouth throughout. If it falls out, she will usually root to find it at some point, so what your DS is doing is not unusual at all for us!

But she is also nursing more than usual and is more clingy, whiny, sensitive in general. May it's b/c she's cutting last canine, that she hasn't pooped in 4 days, that she isn't fully recovered from a cold we all had last week, or this is another separation anxious phase...or none of the above! I guess I'm just offering commiseration while riding out this (hopefully short) phase.
