Washing bendy straws

You know those fancy swirly shaped straws, how do you wash yours? We have somehow ended up with a few, and I'm not sure if I can put them in the dish washer or what. I also worry about mildew growing in the parts where water will pool.

Funnel

You can use a funnel that goes down to a very small point to flush soapy water through it, but it's a pain. We never keep these straws around for too long, especially once they've been used for milk.

I put them in the dishwasher. So far, so good!
